About the ProjectThe Trusted Brush is a wallpaper installation business run by Sara Wyatt, who is not only an expert at hanging wallpaper but also an artist. Like many of my clients, Sara had an existing Squarespace website that she built herself before coming to me, but did not feel that it accurately reflected her business. In addition to polishing and revamping the website, she also thought it would be nice to incorporate some of her own art into the site to inject some of her personality and make it feel more uniquely her. I built Sara a brand identity and website, and also worked with her to vectorize and recolor some of her artwork to incorporate into the design.
My ApproachSara mostly draws her audience in from her Instagram page, so people coming to her website are interested in working with her but may need to have some questions answered about the process or about whether Sara is the right person for the job. Therefore, the main goal for Sara’s website was to simplify the process of working with her and explain why someone might want to hire a wallpaper installer. I built the homepage to display this info in an engaging way that keeps the visitor scrolling.
A secondary goal of the website was to introduce Sara and help clients get a feel for what it would be like to work with her. We went with bold colors, and included fun graphics and patterns sprinkled throughout. We also added plenty of professional photos of her working with wallpaper and making art, to allow her personality to shine through.
The ResultThe redesigned site effectively walks potential clients through any questions they might have and helps move them towards the ultimate goal of filling out a project form. Sara’s fun, creative and friendly energy shines through and helps people envision how amazing it would be to work with her. Her own block-printed artwork shines throughout, giving the website a unique and personal touch. Sara was very happy with the result, and has expressed how many compliments she gets on her website.
